Sure you can :D
As base we used the Simplicity 4508 Tudor pattern (see for example here: [link])
we did alter a few parts of the pattern to fit the costume but it was a fairly good base for such a costume (i.e. we made the collar bigger, altered the sleeves etc) :aww:
you can get other pattern by simplicity for different styles of historian costumes, just have a look around what fits best and needs least altering ;)

Oh okay. Thanks ^^ :hug: I used a Butterick B4827 as the base for my Esther Blanchett AX member costume. Re-drew sleeve pattern, took off the train. It turned out pretty well, still not finished yet though =_=' I've been working on it on and off for almost a year

yeah altering pattern is quite tricky but easier than make it from scratch ^^ and I'm also working quite a long time on my costumes..
